Our energy landscape is changing with the integration of an increasing amount of renewable generation from a diverse range of sources (i.e. wind, solar, biomass, anaerobic digestion “AD” and hydro) requiring to be connected to the grid in addition to battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Wilson Power Solutions has been providing the renewable sector with purpose-designed power transformers (up to 300MVA) for a number of Solar PV and onshore wind installations across the UK. Our power transformer offer now includes transformers up to 400kV and a selection of auxiliary and earthing transformers.

Renewables connection to the grid & local distribution networks:

Design, manufacture and installation of a 45/50MVA 132kV/33kV power transformer at Owls Hatch Solar Park in Kent.

WPS manufactured and delivered the 70ft unit within just 5 months, thus enabling the client to meet the March 31st 2015 deadline in order to secure RO support for the project.

The on-site build was achieved in an impressive three days.
